This year’s Tennessee Future Leaders Scholarship winner is Ava Mosadegh. Ava recently graduated from South Doyle High School and will be attending the University of Tennessee in the Fall.
Ms. Mosadegh has demonstrated her leadership abilities as President of South Doyle’s HOSA chapter, Vice President of her school’s National Honor’s Society, and commitment to serving her community through extensive volunteer work.
One such unique volunteer opportunity she participated in was Truphoto. Truphoto’s mission is to “teach compassion for animals through photography.” Ms. Mosadegh helped host a workshop for 5th through 12th graders who photographed adoptable animals at the local Humane Society and Young Williams animal shelters. The photos were shared via social media to encourage adoption of these local pets.
Ms. Mosadegh plans to embody the true spirit of being a “Volunteer” at the University of Tennessee and hopes to go on to pharmacy school.
“I want to congratulate Ms. Mosadegh for her commitment to service and for all that she has accomplished already. We had many applications, but Ms. Mosadegh’s really stood out, and I have no doubt she will make a great impact on our state as a future leader.”
